Sausage Gravy (for biscuits and gravy)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. butter
  • 3 lbs. sausage
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 gal. milk
  • 1 1/2 T. salt
  • 1 T. pepper
  • 1 T. sage
DirectionsFry sausage in butter until brown; add salt, pepper and sage.

Save 3 cups milk from gallon and mix with flour.

Add rest of milk to sausage and heat to just under a boil.

Add milk and flour mixture; stir until thickened.
